Football fans are the real GOAT of football

Ronaldo at Euros 2024: UEFA says CR7 is faster at 39 than he was at 27, but some fans got it mixed up.

who is the fastest football player in the world and in euro 2024

Who is the Fastest football player in the world today? some fans are still in doubt about player with the highest speed.

An Instagram news account made a post about Cristiano Ronaldo detailing how the football veteran and one of the greatest football players of all time broke his own record for his fastest sprint in the EUROS as well as the world at 39.

UEFA began recording sprints in the prestigious competition back in 2012 where Ronaldo highest sprint recorded was 32km/h, one of the highest in tournament at the time.

Ronaldo Top Speed in Euros

However, 12 years later, Cristiano Ronaldo, now 39, has clocked a top speed of 32.7/km/h at the EUROS 2024 in Germany against Georgia. It appears Cristiano Ronaldo has best his own sprint record at the edition of the competition.

Football fans Opinion about the fastest football player

According to comments on social media, some football fans believe that this record either has something to do with the highest speed recorded in the EUROS 2024 or the highest in CR7’s career. But it appears that’s not the case.

This got to be not real, I mean we have a lot of speedsters and you can’t tell me Ronaldo got the highest ever in the EUROS… a football fan said.

is ronaldo the fastest football player in the world and in euro 2024

This sprint record has nothing to do with the highest sprints recorded in this tournament’s edition or the highest Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded in his career.

His fastest ever. Not the fastest in the tournament… another commented

Fastest player in the euro 2024 tournament

According to UEFA, the top 10 speed recorded in the competition are between 35.8 to 34.8 with players like Walker, Leao, Mbappe, Mendes, and no Ronaldo. Also, CR7 has recorded higher top speed in other competitions, including the famous one he recorded at the 2018 FIFA Men’s World Cup at the age of 33 where his sprint against Spain reached 34km/h.

Therefore, his 32.7km/h sprint record is only pertaining to Cristiano Ronaldo in the EUROS since 2012, not the overall top speed in the competition or Cristiano Ronaldo’s top speed in his career.

However, it is still impressive that Cristiano Ronaldo could manage to run 32.7km/h at the age of 39, beating his record in the competition from 12 years ago when he was in his prime.

Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo could easily hold the record for the fastest 39+ year old player in the world with his 32.7km/h sprint. But that’s a debate for another day.
