There is no doubt that the English Premier League and La Liga are the best leagues in the world with the latter having more eyes watching it around the globe. They are home to the world’s most glamorous football clubs in terms of glory, history and fanbase. In fact, if the EPL and La Liga ceased to exist today, every football season would lose its excitement and flavours by over 70%, including the UEFA champions league.

But considering that Man City has shattered all competitions when it comes to taking home the English championship glory, and Spanish teams, especially Real Madrid are still dominating Europe, there’s a legitimate reason to question which one of these leagues can be considered the best.

The UEFA coefficient league ranking and the IFFHS World league ranking seem to believe that the English Premier League is the most competitive and therefore the best league in the world according to recent ranking, while La Liga is forced to be the second.

But a poll on footballdebates.com that collects football fan votes on football topics and debates has agreed with the ranking by UEFA and IFFHS to crown EPL as the world’s best league. 100% of football fans’ vote goes to the EPL, leaving La Liga with 0%. So not only does the EPL beat La Liga, it does with a landslide. When it comes to the best league in the world, the English Premier League is undisputed both with UEFA and football fans around the world.
