Cristiano Ronaldo nets twice to equal and break the record for the most goals in a Saudi Pro League campaign ever. The previous record holder was Al-lttihad striker, Abderrazak Hamdallah who scored 34 goals for Al-nassr back in 2019. With the Portuguese football veteran’s header in the second half against Al-lttihad, he cliched the new record, further cementing his name as one of the greatest the game has ever witnessed. And to think he has done this at the ripe age of 39 speaks more to his greatest.
Cristiano Ronaldo also created another record as the only player in the history of football to finish as the top scorer in four different leagues. After the King’s Cup final against Al-Hilal on Friday, Ronaldo’s focus would be directed at Euros 2024 where he would be looking to break more records and win the title for the second time.
A lot of Ronaldo fans have tipped him to win the Balon O’dor if he manages to win the King’s Cup with Al-nassr and the Euros with Portugal. With him scoring 50 goals for Al-nassr this season in 50 appearances, a great performance in the Euros 2024 and a winner’s medal might be what the football legend needs to make it up to the Balon O’dor podium this year since 2019, and maybe eventually win it.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been incredible for club and country this season, and it is no wonder he’s currently leading his arch rival, Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate among football fans.
